Vote for your MCN Man of the Year
In January our good chum Llewellyn Pavey and his father Simon Pavey made history by becoming the first ever Father and Son team to finish the Dakar Rally. A huge achievement we are sure you'll agree. But it was far from plain sailing for the pair. In fact on the final stage of the rally Llewellyn's bike decided it had had enough and called it a day just kilometres from the end.
Determined to reach the finish after a gruelling 2 weeks of riding they resorted to towing the bike for the final kilometres through horrendous muddy conditions. They made the finish and they made history when the crossed the finish line of probably one of the hardest Dakars in recent history.
Yesterday Llewellyn was shortlisted on MCN's Man of the Year poll and he's in some good company with the likes of Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez, Cal Crutchlow and more motorcycling legends then you can shake a stick covered in you know what at. But after the efforts of the Pavey team and the below photo we can safely say that our boy Llel gets our vote. Head over and cast yours but please spare a thought for Mr Pavey.
